IN THIS SECTION:

On Zionism

The term "Zionism" draws more attention (and more fire) in our own time than when the movement first emerged, in Europe, at the end of the nineteenth century. This section looks at the key issues underlying the Z Word.

Z Word editor Ben Cohen examines the opprobrium which has accompanied the Zionist movement since its inception, pointing out the parallels between anti-Zionist ideas and classic conspiracy theories.

In a separate contribution, Cohen exposes the malicious claim, underlying the anti-Israel boycott movement, that the State of of Israelis an apartheid state.

Excerpts from important recent books by antisemitism scholars David Hirsh and Kenneth S. Stern explore the deep-rooted connections between anti-Zionism and antisemitism.

Finally, selections from the classic texts of the Zionist movement provide much needed clarification oncerning the core ideas of a movement which is too often caricatured, demonized and misunderstood.

As Z Word continues to develop, we'll be adding to this section, so make sure you check back frequently.
